Another day, another scare.
Liam gave us yet another scare last night. Luckily, it didn’t warrant the emergency room like last time, but it’s still scary.
Somehow, the kids got into the recyclables while I was getting Abigail’s bottle (I know, I want her off too…but that’s another story, for another time) and stuff before she went to bed. In it, happened to be an empty Pediasure bottle…and the genius that my son is, managed to get the top off (I say genius because it was screwed on, lol) and he drank what was left in the bottom. Thankfully, there really wasn’t anything left, and he only got a little bit. Unfortunate for Liam though, that little bit was enough to make him break out in hives on his chest and belly. I, of course, panicked. I tackled the poor little guy, and shoved Benadryl down his throat before he could even figure out what was going on. I immediately called Ryan, and the pediatrician to let them know what was going on, and Ryan’s mom came over to be with me in case he got any worse.
And of course, being the mom, I feel totally responsible for turning my back long enough for them to get into the recyclables in the first place. This whole food allergy thing is going to be a long, long road. I just hope I can make it through….
