Sigh of relief…for now.
For right now, I can let out a little sigh of relief. I got the phone call from the pediatrician to let me know that Abigail’s blood work was back, or at least most of it was back. We’re still waiting for the chromosomal blood, since it had to be sent out to be studied. As for the blood work that we have back, all but one came back normal. Apparently, her IGF-1 level was a bit low, so I’m not sure yet what that means. It’s up to the endocrinologist to decide. But, it could be within a normal level and they won’t have to do anything about it - so fingers crossed. If it is considered low, that means we’ll have to admit Ab for a day for further testing via IV and meds. I’d like to avoid that at all costs if I can, so I’m really crossing my fingers that it isn’t too low.
I’m very happy to hear (as far as we know) that she doesn’t have any kind of disease like Celiac or Turner’s syndrome. I don’t want to say we’re completely clear, because I don’t want to jinx anything. But it looks as though if anything it’s a growth hormone thing. I guess we’ll see on Tuesday….
